East Wall Youth is part of the fabric of East Wall North Port and it works to 

improve the lives of young people and their community. Currently, the project operates on a full-time basis with one project manager 4 members of the youth work team and an office manager. 

 
Mission statement 

East Wall Youth supports young people’s development in order to realize their potential and to optimize their opportunity to contribute as active and valued participants in their community and wider society.  

We are dedicated to providing a range of high quality services to the young people of East Wall & North Port between the ages of 10 and 24. We are proactive in responding to the needs of the young people, their families and the wider local community.

  • Provide a safe space for young people to socialise, have fun, develop positive relationships, learn new skills and access supports as needed to 
  • enhance their development 
  • Provide information, training and resources to young people, parents, volunteers, and the community at large on subjects of interest to young 
  • people 
  • Support other youth initiatives in East Wall/North Port area 
  • Promote equality of opportunity and encourage young people to 
  • embrace challenge with support from our team of youth workers and 
  • volunteers 

East Wall Youth provides a safe environment for young people to meet, to discuss issues affecting them and their community and to come up with solutions. Programmes and activities are delivered in collaboration between paid staff and volunteers. The following is a list of activities that East Wall Youth pursues with youth club members. These are delivered in out-of- school settings, in the youth centre and on field trips.

  • Centre based activities: Arts and crafts, snooker and pool, football and fitness 
  • CV and interview preparation and vocational supports
  • Discussion groups 
  • Adventure weekends away and teambuilding exercises

  • Halloween Festival annually in our community

  • Opportunities to develop as active citizens

The satisfaction of helping people 

Volunteering gives the opportunity to contribute to young people’s personal and social development. For example, volunteer with East Wall Youth will have 

the satisfaction of having contributed to young people’s growth, helping them succeed in school, gain confidence or have increased life aspirations. 

 

Benefiting the community  

One of the better-known benefits of volunteering is the impact on the community. Volunteering allows for increased connections to the community, 

making it a better place. Dedicating time as a volunteer helps in making new friends, expanding networks and boosting social skills.
